JJRC Quadcopter H8C A strong competitor for Syma X5C

After the excellent JJRC 1000 and F182,  the JJRC H8C has become one of JJRC’s most popular mini quad copters since it was released at the end of last year. Many have stated that it is the Syma X5C killer (a very popular quad on the market). Is that really so?

JJRC Quadcopter Excellent LED Display

Well, I love both the exciting exterior design of H8C and X5C. The H8C comes with two colors(black/white). Also, it has very bright LED band on all four corners of its main body, perfect for night flying and similar to the X5C. The LEDs are very visible even in daylight.

Definitely, the H8C is a great flyer: banking well, amazing stable with fast forward, very agile, powerful despite its 140g. The range is great and no drop out have been observed. It’s a real amazing flyer in this configuration.  If you liked the X5C but disappointed by its poor range for example, this thing is representing the perfect replacement for it. Meanwhile, one major feature of the H8C is the usage of a 7.4V system instead of the 3.7V.

JJRC Quadcopter Efficiency Battery

It comes with a 2.4GHz 4-channel transmitter that has a mini LCD screen for displaying information: throttle position, flight modes, battery power, radio reception and throttle trim. The remote is offering very good and precise controls. The yaw rate is good but constant whatever the speed mode. 4xAA batteries are required to power this TX. Sticks are precise.

JJRC Quadcopter Multi-Modes

The left shoulder button permits to select between 4 speed rates: 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. In 25% mode, the H8C is flying softly ideal for beginners and robust to moderate winds. At 100% it becomes more responsive and flies more aggressively. From 50%, it is just great with very good Fast forward !! To perform a flip, move the upper right stick in any direction while you hear the beeping and the H8C will flip in the direction you choose. The 2MP HD 720P camera is okay quality with 2GB micro SD card. But I really love the ability to adjust the camera angle. I have taken nice videos of the sun set, which are almost Jello free. Of course, if a wider Field of View and a better light sensibility (for night flying) can be achieved, that would have been even better.

Overall, the JJRC H8C is a great quad. So far I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend it to both the first-time and intermediate flyers.
