Cheerson CX-31 2.4G 6-Axis 3D Headless RC Quadcopter UFO

For RC lovers, they must be quite familiar with the Cheerson CX-10 which did a home run in the mini quad category last year. Currently, the company has brought out its counterpart:  Cheerson CX-31.  Does this thing can replicate the original success for Cheerson?

The top thing I’d like to talk about this newly-released quad is its excellent UFO design which reveals mysterious and vivid look. It comes with two colors, that is, silver and white. There are 8 LEDs mounted on the top:  4 red and 4 blue respectively.

It is only about the size of an Oreo cookie but can really go. You can fly it in a small space if you like, allowing you to enjoy fun quad action anywhere. With just a little practice you can easily do flips and a few more maneuvers: up & down, left & right, side-flying, hover, throw to fly.

I’ve previously flown the WLtoys V666, which is really a big guy, UFO design and brings me so much fun. Yet it took me several days to get the hang of it. This Cheerson CX-31, however, is quite a machine and pretty fun to fly! Everything was super easy to use! Especially given its small size, this thing flies well, hovers nicely, trims out easily and does flips and spins. Even better, the headless mode makes it harder to lose.

Unlike the CX-10 that provides a small controller, you’ll be used to the larger controller that accompany the CX-30. But both of them are quite durable. I’ve had my fair share of crashes with this thing and it hasn’t broken whatsoever. It comes with 4 extra propellers, which I haven’t needed to use yet despite multiple wrecks. But I would recommend you also buy a guard cage for the blades.

It charges fully in about 90 minutes and I am getting about 6 minutes of flight time out of it on one charge, which is actually shorter than 10 minutes of the CX-10.

In a nutshell,  the Cheerson CX-31 boasts itself by virtue of its novel design,  strong stability and high durability, but offers short flight time. For the price around $25, you get a whole lot for your money here.
